This Strat's frets were badly worn, the dents and flat spots are easy to see. The frets being in this condition destroys tone and playability. We can fix this condition (most of the time, sometimes wear is bad enough to warrant re-fretting...) with our Set-Up work, restoring tone and playability to better than new levels! One thing that isn't easily visible in these pictures are the sharp fret edges, which can make it painful to play. Those were also taken care of. Just look at the results:
These frets were not this smooth, level or shiny when it was new! With the highly polished (and level) fresh crowns, the guitar is able to be set for proper action and the intonation properly set, which make for greatly improved playability and tone! New instruments also benefit from this treatment, even they will feel and sound better after being properly set up! The owner of the Strat used as an example here opted for an upgrade, and had the plastic nut replaced with a beautiful and functional bone nut, check it out below:
Bone nuts look better, sound better and work better than plastic nuts. The 12 string nut above is an example of a beautiful marbled looking piece of bone, which looked great on this instrument. We highly recommend this upgrade, and you will too after experiencing it on your own instrument!
