Vintage Gibson Archtop

1952 Gibson ES-125, A++ Condition!

1952 Gibson ES-125 Body

This looks like a new instrument! It really is a 1952 Gibson ES-125, all original except for the tuner buttons. The originals had desiccated and crumbled away (as plastic buttons of the day tend to do). This looks like it was built yesterday! It saw some play for the first few years, and then was stored well so we have this pristine example on hand today!

1952 Gibson ES-125 Harness

The wiring harness is all original, with the pots dating to the last quarter of 1952.

1952 Gibson ES-125 Pickup

The pickup cover is still shiny, inside and out!

1952 Gibson ES-125 Tuners

The tuners are original, just the buttons have been replaced.

1952 Gibson ES-125 Grounding Lug

This is from the era when the little details mattered, they even included a grounding lug! This is a real prize! The case looks as new as the guitar, and we have boxes of Gibson strings, a collection of picks, a metal pitch pipe and the (cork!) capo that were used with it originally. This instrument is a real treasure, and the map to it leads to our front door!

GVMH Custom Creations

White Super-Strat

Super-Strat Front View

We do customization work as well as repairs and sales here in the Haus. This striking Super-Strat belongs to one of our most regular customers, and we thank him for allowing us to showcase his very cool guitar. This started with a Floyd Rose routed body, and grew into this great guitar.

Super-Strat Inlays

The Maltese Cross inlays were requested, and delivered! The neck looks and feels great!

Super-Strat Body

The Floyd Rose bridge is easy to spot, but the carefully chosen pickup combination needs to be talked about. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Alnico II humbucker, the middle is a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Blues and the neck is a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues. These provide power, clarity and tonal variety and keep the hum at bay. To control these heavy hitters, a special circuit was designed...

Super-Strat Controls

It looks deceptively simple, but there is a lot going on here. The 5 way switch is a SuperSwitch, which opens a lot of possibilities. The volume is a push/pull pot for extra switching options, and the tone is a stacked pot to allow both bass and treble rolloff. In switch position #1, the neck pickup is on by itself. In position #2, the neck and middle pickups work together. In position #3, the middle pickup is on by itself. About now you are probably thinking "hey, that is normal strat-style switching...", and you would be mostly right. Remember, there is treble and bass rolloff and not just treble rolloff on these pickups. Position 4 is where things start opening up. With the volume pot down, #4 gives the bridge front coil and the middle pickup(think Strat #4). With the volume pot pulled up, #4 gives the bridge front coil and the neck pickup (think Tele #2). All this with both bass and treble rolloff, the tonal options are enormous! Finally, we come to switch position #5. This is the bridge humbucker by itself, and it bypasses the tone controls for all-out Rock-'n'-Roll!
