This Tradition is the smaller version of the MTL-650 (shallower and narrower body), customized with all new electronics, bone nut and Bone Top bridge. The pickups are DiMarzio Air Classics, with the new Thick-to-Thin circuit on the bridge pickup, master tone control, and independent volume controls. Leroy opted for the 5-way rotary switch for his, which gives him the full humbucker at one end, full coil split at the other and three single coil-ish sounds in between which thin out at each step to full coil split. The bridge pickup is also splitable, offering a very wide tonal palette with the ability to blend varying amounts of each pickup into the output. The DiMarzio pickups sound fantastic anyway, and the tweakability of this control scheme makes for many hours of happy tonal exploration!

Seymour Duncan has a different take on active pickups. The "other" USA-made active humbuckers use unbalanced inputs in a differential preamp. The problem is, an unbalanced differential preamp is not very effective at cancelling hum. Their engineers figured out how to capture the tone that players want in an active design, but using balanced inputs. The result is 12dB to 14dB less noise, plus more lows, more highs, and more output. There is now more than one option in high output active pickups!

The new E Series E-300T is a great sounding bass head, designed for classic tone and high reliability. The tone comes from the well designed all tube circuit, and the reliability from the Eden engineering of that great sounding circuit. The tubes are individually biased, with externally accessible bias test and adjust points. Fuses protect each tube, and are also easily changed if/when needed. They upped the ante with a variable mid control and and overdrive switch, making this the perfect combination of old school tone and modern reliability and ease!
G&L Tribute basses use the same hardware and electronics as the American made basses, but cost a lot less.
